I realized the other day that it’s been awhile since I did an actual Tarot Reading blog post – since February in fact. So, for today, I figured I’d go ahead and share a Tarot Reading for May.
I decided to do a simple reading using the Two-Card Cross Spread which is a basic Situation/Challenge spread. I also didn’t have a specific question or topic in mind, so it was more of a general reading. Here’s what I got:
Card 1: Two of Pentacles
The Two of Pentacles represents balancing different aspects of your life.
This card can be referring to multiple different areas, but since pentacles are symbolic of the material world, it can often indicate finding balance between your work and home life.
Sometimes, this card can also imply two different people (i.e. – trying to decide between two partners or trying to juggle two partners), but often it can indicate that you’re trying to balance your needs with someone else’s.
Interpretation: The 2 of Pentacles showed up in the Current Situation position, so it’s what’s happening in my life right now. I think this could mean a few things, but I’m interpreting it as an indication that I’m trying to balance work with my creative endeavors and my home life.
I also think this could indicate the fact that I have a lot of different creative ideas that I’m thinking about right now.
Card 2: Three of Wands
The Three of Wands represents progress and growth. It tends to indicate forward motion and can also sometimes represent literal traveling or a vacation.
This card can also suggest confidence or high self-esteem. The figure depicted here is determined to move forward; they’re actively making plans and carrying them out.
The 3 of Wands is all about expansion – expanding your knowledge, moving forward with your plans, and looking at the big picture.
Interpretation: This card appeared for me in the Challenges position, though. I take that to mean that I’m holding myself back from moving forward in different areas of my life.
This actually does make a lot of sense to me and could be referring to multiple things. Right now, though, I’m interpreting to mean that I’m struggling with my own self-confidence.
The pairing of the 2 of Pentacles with the 3 of Wands suggests being torn between two different things and then struggling with making a confident and strong decision. It could mean that I’m not allowing myself to really look at the big picture, or that I’m holding myself back from moving forward.
